It's not an easy school to get into but if you love what you do and are good at it, it's not difficult either. As long as you're passionate about your work and work hard in school, you'll be just fine. It's very much worth it :)

To get in I pretended to be the archtypal good student. In retrospect, I'd say to people applying, be yourself. My coming out of the closet sophomore year worked, but your changing who you are might not, so be yourself from the beginning. It's a GREAT school --IF-- you ignore the rich bitches and the faculty who are mailing it in and hang with the people who are real.

I applied to Pratt on a whim, not really expecting to get in. I submitted a short story for the portfolio that I had recycled from another college submission. The essay was written in a half hour before I clicked "apply". They got back to me incredibly fast and gave me a massive scholarship.
